Nancy K. Server, LLC  -Excellence in Music Therapy

"Music stimulates senses that other venues may not, enhances self esteem, lifts the spirits and is fun."

Nancy K. Server 2010

Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC).

Music is used within a therapeutic relationship to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. After assessing the strengths and needs of each client, the qualified music therapist develops an individualized treatment plan.  Through the use of music,  the therapist works with the individual or group of individuals through a variety of interventions including: singing, playing instruments, (i.e drums, maracas, tambourines and wood blocks), tone bells to create a bell choir, movement and music, generation specific sing-a-longs, drum circles, and music listening. Through these music interventions a client's world can blossom.

Qualitative and quantitative music therapy research supports its effectiveness in many areas such as: social interaction, physical rehabilitation, increased mobility, emotional release, memory enhancement, and verbal or non-verbal communication.
